Default 23500 - expansion cards are not visible .

It is an odd one and admitedly , I am not sure on all the details .
I have two 23500 boxes that were shipped to DC s , both suppose to have 2 extra cards beyond what comes with stock .
Primary arrived from CP assembled and ready to go .
Secondary unfortunately was shpped with cards separately from appliance .
We instructed DC team to install the cards and then mount and patch the gateway .
Alas the moment of truth - firewall is up and running , but shows no eth 2 or eth 5 (that's where extra cards were suppose to be set ).
To the best of my understanding the cards were compatible and veted by CP .
I ve worked with a lot of IPSO and some 23000 s and as far as I know the expansions should be plug and play .

    Any thoughts ?

I have had some fun with 23500/23800 chassis and cards. Really need to make sure that inserted properly.

Couple of times thought card was bad, but had to reseat the card. Does seem a little picky about how well is inserted.

Are there any lights on the card when it boots up etc.

Are you running R77.30 on your 23000? If so you do know that there was a special back-ported release of R77.30 for these models right:

    • 3100, 3200 Appliances
    • 5100 / 5400 / 5600 / 5800 / 5900 Appliances
    • 15400 / 15600 Appliances
    • 23500 / 23800 Appliances

If you are using the generic release of R77.30, it may not have the proper drivers for these cards which is why they don't appear.

It's worth checking to see if the interfaces wound up in different slots from the ones you expect. The slots on the front of the box aren't labeled, so figuring out which of the five of them is "slot 2" is basically trial-and-error.

Also of note: the cards are physically hot-pluggable, but the OS does not support hot-plug PCI the last time I checked. They need to be connected when the box is shut down and they will only be recognized on boot.
