We are going to upgrade to a newer version of CheckPoint (Media Encryption and Port Protection).

The upgrade will involve a new Security Management Server and a new version of the software on the users laptops.

We only use CheckPoint (Media Encryption and Port Protection) in offline mode.

As I understand it, a "password" is embedded in the software on the laptop such that encrypted media can be decrypted by the owner without knowledge of the password used to encrypt the media.

Is it possible to achieve (all) the following?
* update the version of software on the laptop
* update the server that the laptop communicates with
* retain the embeded "password" that is currently used

Apologies if previous articles or the manuals answer this question (I have looked)
If they do please point me at them!

Many thanks
