    Question DHCP Server in ClusterXL

    Good morning,

We have a pair of 5100s running as HA ClusterXL. I'm trying to plug our AP controller into a vlan dedicated to public/guest connections and need a DHCP server, is there a way in smart console to enabled DHCP? I see it on the individual gateways, but that didnt reply to a dhcp request I tried. Maybe I did that wrong. Any advice?

DHCP is configured within Gaia OS not via the Dashboard as is an OS feature as opposed to Check Point feature.

You also need to ensure that the firewall policy allows the DHCP request traffic as well otherwise fails on the Stealth Rule.

Please forgive my noobishness, by gaia OS do you mean the Next Generation Security Management Software VM, or the individual Security Gateways ?

update on this with working with support.

running tcpdump -enni eth1-07 doesn't show ethertype 802.11 like they are expecting it to.

but running an ip address of static on the laptop on the vlan and tcpdump eth1-07.16 shows the ping traffic running just fine as IPv4.

yet still isnt responding to DHCP requests. Will continue to update as more relevant information is available.
