Default install R77.30 on Open Server

run into a very weird issue over the weekend. I have a Dell R720 with 64GB RAM and 8 CPUs with quad-core

I installed R77.30 using the image Check_Point_R77.30_T204_Install_and_Upgrade.Gaia.i so. The installation went fine without any issues.

During the configuration, if I choose Gateways or Provider-1, everything will work fine without any issues. However, if I choose "management and gateways" or just "Management", the configuration process will successfully complete but after the reboot to complete the installation, I can NOT connect using the Checkpoint Dashboard. It keeps saying "make sure the service is running and that your machine is an authorized client". Well, during the configuration, I allow "Any machine IP address" to be able to connect and I also perform "fw unloadlocal" to make sure the initial policy is removed but no luck. I've repeated the process five times and re-produce it every time.

Want to mention that both the time on the gui client and management server is synced with the same NTP server in sync

    What am I missing here?

    The epoch date issue?
There is a new R77.30 image, or while installing make sure the date is set back to pre feb 2018
    Regards, Maarten.

^ Beat me to it ^

Definite case where setting the date correctly will kill it. Notoriously unhelpful failure message, but at least an easy fix (apply newer HFA and re-sign CA).

so I suppose the new image Check_Point_R77.30_Install_and_Upgrade_T5.Gaia.iso will fix this issue?

    TIA

Yup (and I don't often say that...I usually stick with "it should").

For reference, the SK was 122612.

I was in the Dallas TAC when R55 started running into this. It signed its CA for 30 years, so you can no longer install it with a system date later than 2008. Ugh.

    I wonder if R80.20 switches to 64-bit time_t.
