Default How to update waagent in Checkpoint Azure

    Hello Team

Please move this thread to correct forum, I did not find Azure.

So when I installed my Checkpoint cluster in Azure, I used the image file provided by CP (R77.30) that came with some version of "waagent". Now I want to upgrade my "waagent" and looks like even the new 77.30 image from CP is still having the same waagent version.

Is there any official sk that walks through this waagent uprage procedure on Checkpoints in Azure?

    Current R77 version : gey_hvm-16-064.vhd (R77.30 Take 16 build 064)
Current waagent version: WALinuxAgent-2.0.16 running on gaia

    Any help is appreciated.

A search in the knowledgebase turns up nothing.

What is it that wanting to update the Agent for?

Searching throws up about trying to use the Azure Backup utility and not having the latest agent installed to which the answer is

The backup and restore features in the Azure Portal are currently not supported with Check Point products.

If need it then submit an RFE to Check Point.

waagent is provided as part of the image in Azure.
The reason for the version we use (as I recall) relates to the Linux kernel version we are using in Gaia currently.
We currently do not provide a mechanism to upgrade this component.

What is your reason for wanting to upgrade it?

The reason why we want to upgrade the waagent is we want to convert our VM's to managed disks and the current waagent does not support managed disks.

    Requested RFE to CP.

    Thanks for the quick responses.
