    Default Openstack?

Anyone doing anything with Openstack by chance? I've converted my ESXi setup and i'm just starting to get things working.

I am openstack-adjacent. My team manages some servers which use it, and I have had to learn enough about it to track down and fix memory leaks. I don't run it except on "appliances", though.

From what I've seen so far, it doesn't seem a complete product for end users. Rather, it seems to be a tool for vendors to build products for end users. I'm kind of curious about your experiences with it.

ok so i found a deployment project that seems to be pretty good. I've done a multi node deployment multiple times and it seems to work pretty well.

    Kolla-ansible - https://docs.openstack.org/kolla-ansible/latest/

The one thing that isn't clear from reading their quick start guide is this. Ignore all the instructions for making your own registry. If you do want to make your own registry then install the kolla package in addition to the kolla-ansible package ( i filled a bunch of doc bugs over the weekend).

Make sure to send out ssh keys and i think python-minimal if runnung ubuntu (i'm using 16.04) and docker on the deployment host and Openstack remotes. Each Openstack service will be installed into a docker container. You can reconfigure and rebuild the entire env with a single configuration file. Pretty damn cool.
