First, I hope you're all well and staying safe.
Second, I want to give a "heads up" that you should see more activity here shortly, and maybe a few cosmetic changes.
I'll post more details to the "Announcements" forum soon, so be on the lookout. -E

    Default De-Introduction

After an extensive bake off and requirements gathering the CISO has overrode his own staff and the Network Team and has chosen PaloAlto to replace all firewalls.

This board has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and advise over the years (been on CheckPoint since 4.1). I'd like to thank everyone here for their help on several occasions over the years.

Now off to study PaloAlto and their way of doing things...

Welcome to the club. I am in the same boat as you. We're going away from Checkpoint to Palo Alto. I am sure it will not be a bumpy ride but finally we're beginning that step :-)

Really depends on the year to year $$$ renewal costs. I don't think the people who pay the bills really care about the technology involved. I support most platforms now and from week to week it may be Cisco/Firepower, Palo Alto, Checkpoint Fortinet Sonic-Wall etc.

    Good luck, mate!

While you're still here can you share some insight about the decision? Is it cost, overall knowledge of the team, yearly renewal fee?
