First, I hope you're all well and staying safe.
Second, I want to give a "heads up" that you should see more activity here shortly, and maybe a few cosmetic changes.
I'll post more details to the "Announcements" forum soon, so be on the lookout. -E

Default Reporting on the 750/790 GAIA embedded appliance

Hello, I would like to automate the process of creating a daily report on the 750/790 appliance. Currently this is a manual process via WebUI, which only generates a file when requested and then can only print rather than export the file. Obviously printing to a PDF file resolves that, but my main question is around automation.

Is there a way to generate a daily report via CLISH? If this is possible where would it be saved? Ultimately I would like to use, perhaps, cron for this task and have the file emailed to me (securely).

I have been advised that perhaps I can use other tools such as Selenium to automate this but this seems cumbersome on first inspection.

    Thanks for any assistance.

Well, I don't know how to do the report (yet) via command line, but i did a fairly details write up on using strace to debug how to figure out what commands are being used when creating a backup. Should be round the same process. I haven't invested time in making a compile environment for the 7xx/14xx yet. Might be easier to just find a working strace binary for the platform.

Here is how to enable cron.

This is where the hacking session started.

I took a stab at it. It can't tell how its being created. I think your best bet is http automation and pulling down the print view.
