Default are these claims true about Sandblast

    Hi,

Has anyone come across a bullish claim from Fortinet folks that Threat Emulation is only supported for HTTP, HTTPS & SMTP protocol.

    Regards

    Sebastan

Yes, that is correct. TE/TX supports HTTP and SMTP (plus HTTPS if HTTPS inspection is enabled).

I understand that Fortinet also supports SMB, FTP, IMAP and POP3.
While FTP may be useful I doubt that someone would put a sandbox appliance between clients and a IMAP/POP3 server. SMB may have some merits too, not sure. If something malicious is already on a file share, it may be a bit too late to take care of it.

Most customers currently only use SMTP / MTA setup only.
