Default Need help in decreasing rules backup size

Hi, can anyone help me how can we decrease the R77.20 rules backup size, currently I can see the rules backup size in 2+ GB.
I have been deleting the old database revision control files, but I can see the file size keeps increasing day by day.
How do we decrease the rules backup file size ?

I don't think it has to do with the rule size. I am suspecting that your hit rule count size is really BIG.

    To confirm this:

    1- cd $FWDIR/conf
    2- ls -l hit_count_rules_table.sqlite

Are you running a fresh build of R77.20 or is this an upgrade from previous version? If this is upgrade from previous version, then it is likely an issue. Checkpoint has its own definition of what a fresh build and upgrade so you might think you have a fresh build but that is NOT what checkpoint thinks.

Report back the size of this file and it should not be more than 200MB. If it is any bigger, it might explain why your backup size is ever growing and you will need a tool download from checkpoint, to clean up this mess, every day: $FWDIR/conf/hit_count_unification_tool.sh

    Thanks for your reply.

    ls -l hit_count_rules_table.sqlite output is -rw-r----- 1 admin root 91683840 Apr 17 10:13 hit_count_rules_table.sqlite

yes, it's not the fresh installation, it's a upgraded from old version.

As you are mentioning the tool, what is the tool name?
Is that ok if I disable the hit count option ? will the rules size will be in the same size in future ?
