Default msmtp sends mail with blank body

    Hi,

I have a script that is expected to send emails upon matching a criteria.
I am using the command with the following syntax at command line to test it, but I keep getting emails with blank body.

    Code:
    echo "Test mail" | msmtp --logfile=$HOME/msmtplog --host 10.1.1.1 -f alert_test@xyz.com me@abc.com
Any ideas why this is not working?

    Thx

You need to have a couple of carriage returns in the body for it to work, try this example that also adds a subject:

    Code:
    echo -e "Subject: Blah\r\n\r\nThis is a test" |msmtp --logfile=$HOME/msmtplog --host 10.1.1.1 -f alert_test@xyz.com me@abc.com
If still not working, add option --debug to msmtp to see what is going on.

Thank you very much! The carriage returns helped :)
