Default AutoBackup with migrtae export or the upgrade_export

    Hi,

We have MDS with four CMA configured. We are taking weakly policy backup of each CMA using ./upgrade_export.
We need to automate this.If we schedule "backup", it will collect complete package of policy of four CMA.We need seperately, if any of gateway fail then we can restore (upgrade_import) that respective policy package on that gateway.

Pls share anything how can we do this.
Is it possible with any script/crontab and How?

    Thanx
    Arjun

Normaly on MDS, you have just used mds_backup every day and store it in some other place.. (we are using crontab to start our own script which run mds_backup)
In case of any problem on any CMAs you can restore mds (mds_restore) any mds_backups on any test MDS system and make any import exprort you need to you productive MDS..

    [Expert@XXX:0]# mds_backup --h
    Usage: mds_backup [-g -L {all|best} -b {-d <target dir name>} -v -l -s -i -h]

We are using following command (form script):
    mds_backup -b -l -d /var/log/mdsbackup/

    Just a couple of comments:

1- you should perform mds_backup more often, like every two days or something like that, instead of weekly.

2- I think the original poster probably asked the question along the lines: what if one the CMA is bad and need to be restored from backup but not the whole MDS, right? If so,
what you want to do is to perform an mds_restore of the mds_backup in #1 to a sandbox environment.. Then you extract $FWDIR #CPDIR, etc.. from that particular corrupted CMA. On the production MDS system, delete that CMA and then migrate everything back to that CMA with the CMA name THE SAME AS BEFORE. That will do the job.

    Make sense right?
