Realistically, IPSO is being phased out so a lack of IPSO-specific content is not a showstopper in my mind.
Also a lot of the concepts are still applicable, even if the individual commands might be different.

It was not to upset anyone but I think all should known it, right?
As for the concepts they might or not be applicable, but think of a guy with less than 1 year exposure, how quickly can he find those related commands?

Overall, although it's not necessary to underline, book is great and I am looking forward for other similar to this.

    It's a perfectly fair comment.
This coming from a guy who spent 10 years working for Nokia supporting IP Appliances :)

The issue with purchasing electronic copies of the book was resolved shortly after danjun's original posting and should work fine for international buyers now.

While I do have a fair amount of experience with IPSO I've barely touched it at all over the last 2 years (other than transition work to new firewall hardware running Gaia), and the fact IP appliances have been end of sale for almost 1.5 years now played into the decision to not include IPSO coverage in the book. Nokia definitely has some rather interesting SecureXL optimizations (both IPSO-based and hardware-based) that would have been difficult to research and verify for the book without ready access to lots of rather expensive IP appliance hardware. If there was a VMWare version of IPSO available I probably would have had at least an appendix covering IPSO. :-)

Thanks for all the comments about the book, I'm sure I'll get plenty more in-person at CPX. :-)

Met Valeri in Amsterdam and got the copy of the book. Looks really good from what I've seen so far.
Just got back from the trip, so it will be a nice read this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who made this possible! Thumbs up!
