Default upgrade from R77.10 to R77.20

I am new to checkpoint, have never done upgrade of check point before. So want some help regarding upgrade from R77.10 to R77.20.

Are there any specific steps that can lead to a problemfri upgrade without any worries. Using Cluster XL setup.

Please any help is well appreciated.

Open a webbrowser to the gateway to get to the GAIA Management GUI, in the bottom lefty there is an option called Status and Actions under Upgrades.
Here you can download and install the updates.

Best is to start with management. They can all be done the same way.

    Tried upgrade from cli.
I just downloaded the .tgz package from checkpoint website copied it to /var/tmp/ directory and unzipp and untar it and than run the ./unixinstallScript and everything went perfect without any issues.
Did security gateways upgrade first and security management server in the last and everything was as expected. Faced no issues or problems.
Thanks a lot for the help and suggestions, saved a lot of reading time.

Normally there is not forward compatibility between an older Security Management Server and a newer Security Gateway but this seems to be allowed inside R77.XX; normally the Security Management Server should always go first. Also upgrades within the same major version (i.e. R77.XX) tend to be pretty minor most of the time whereas going into a new major release (R75.40, R76, R77) seems to have a higher chance of something going wrong.
