    Default Urgent R75.40+ patch?

It's rare that my reseller sends me notices to patch...actually its never happened before, so I'm guessing this one is pretty serious.

    Code:
    sk100431

A potential stability issue might be triggered by a certain traffic condition when one or more of the following is enabled on Security Gateway:

        IPS blade
        IPsec Remote Access
Mobile Access / SSL VPN blade
        SSL Network Extender
        Identify Awareness blade
        HTTPS Inspection
        UserCheck
        Data Leak Prevention blade

    Relevant versions: R75.40VS / R75.45 / R75.46 / R75.47 / R76 / R77 / R77.10
    Its all in the documentation.

I particularly liked how, even though we're the customer, Check Point denies us the ability to see the bulletin. We had to open a case with our CSP. What a waste of time and effort.

Does anyone know why this is labled a security patch? Is that because its been exploited or is exploitable? From what i've been able to find out this is a crash in the firewall worker process, which to me means kernel crash so i guess if you've crashed the kernel who knows what is possible.

    Nice. Quick questions.

Is anyone subscribed to checkpoint for email alerts on security issues?

If so, did you get an email for this?

Have you got email alerts for other issues?

As a side note, R77.20 EA just posted--I don't see sk100431 or any of the issue IDs listed in sk100431 as being included in R77.20. :-/
    Its all in the documentation.

That bug should be fixed in the R77.20 EA.

A reference to sk100421 is included in the release notes for the R77.20 EA (specifically under the "Included Hotfixes" section).
