    Default Decoding container licenses.

    Hello,

I wonder if someone could explain to me the difference between a CPSG-P205U-F-VFM and a CPSG-P205U-F license ?
I guess CP = CheckPoint, SG = Security Gateway, I have no idea what the P stands for, 205 means 2 Cores and 5 blades. No idea what U, the -F and the -F-VFM mean.
Is there a website or tool to decode things like that ?

Any help would be much appreciated ...

The U is the number of Devices protected, in this case Unlimited. The F normally indicates that is an upgraded license.

I would hazard a guess at

    CPSG-P205U-F - Upgrade from VPN-1 License
CPSG-P205U-F-VFM - Upgrade from a Fiewall Only License

As VFM's were Firewal Only Licenes, sold many years ago.

Normally I Don't bother with the CPSG stuff I read through the description in User Center for what the License is.

Where you can download the license guide, however it only covers sales SKU, it doesn't cover off upgrade SKU's.
