Just to clarify a couple of things about this announcement:

    1. Check Point has announced End of Sale dates for IP Appliances, specifically 31 December 2013. This was announced internally on Monday and to partners Today (4 June 2013). This is to give customers ample opportunity to do any last-time buys and begin evaluating Check Point 2012 Appliances. It also aligns with how Nokia previously handled End of Sale announcements.

    2. Normally when Check Point announces successor products, as was done recently with the UTM-1 EDGE/Safe@ Appliances, the End of Support clock starts ticking. To align with Nokia's traditions, Check Point is starting the End of Support clock for the IP Appliances 5 years after the End of Sale date, which means the current line of IP Appliances will be End of Support on 31 December 2018. These dates should now be correctly noted on the Appliance Lifecycle page: Check Point Appliance Support Timeline (they were not yesterday).

Will CP offer a special trade in for these?

    They are offering in trade-ins,

Your Check Point reseller should be able to give you the full details, as partners have been notified of what the scheme is, it started the 1st June so they should be up to date with this by now.

For the partners who missed the webcasts last week, the details and the FAQ for this promotion are available in PartnerMap.

For customers with IP Appliances (bought from Nokia or Check Point), talk with your partner about the IP Series Appliance Refresh Promotion. It's a fantastic deal, in my opinion.
