Default VOIP Software Blade no more available in the Firewall Ordering page

    Hi All,

Would like to know is the VOIP blade is still orderable or it has merged with the default Firewall Blade. In the ordering page for most of the Firewalls I don't see the option of adding the VOIP blade.

Or this blade has to be ordered separately for the Firewalls.

    Regards

    Sebastan

Probably better speaking with your Check Point Reseller, however the R75.40vs release contains enhanced VoIP features and I have been told by our Check Point SE that the enhanced VoIP found in R75.40vs will also be present in the R76 release, ( which is in EA at the moment ).

As such sounds to me as though no longer need a seperate blade license or build in future such as when had R65.2

    Thanks a lot Mcnallym,

So looks like VOIP Blade functionality is now embedded into the Firewall & there is no separate cost associated with it.

    That sounds great.

    Regards

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone have some more granularity on this i.e
    - As of which version the original VoIP blade became integrated with the Firewall/IPS blades.
    - Which features of the original VoIP blade are available in the various interim releases
    - Compared to those features that were newly(?) introduces in R75.40VS / R76 as hinted at by sk82460 - sk76540

    Cheers.

R65.2.100 was the release that had enhanced VoIP functionality.

The following VoIP-related features are available in R75.40VS and R76 and beyond, some of which was available previously only in R65.2.100 (see the relevant VoIP Admin Guide for details):

    • Improved interoperability with VoIP servers and VoIP endpoints of leading vendors.
    • Enhanced NAT support with SIP and improved NAT interoperability with SIP servers.
    • Simplified VoIP configuration in SmartDashboard.
    • Highly detailed logs for VoIP Call and VoIP Registration sessions. Tailored to VoIP traffic, these logs enable easy ongoing administration and troubleshooting.
    • Predefined VoIP log queries in SmartView Tracker: Call Sessions, Registration Sessions and Security Events (IPS) .
    • More than 80 VoIP IPS protections and VoIP settings

The following features from R65.2.100 are not present in other releases:

    • Far End NAT
    • Rate limiting
    • SIP TLS
    • RTP/RTCP Security
    • Media Admission Control
    • Call Admission Control

    Thanks PhoneBoy appreciate it.

Just one last query to follow-up...

Do the VoIP services as defined in the R76 VoIP Admin guide (refer link below) operate the same in R75.X as they exist?

I assume they would operate the same as they have since at least R65.

In R75.40VS and R76, we've enhanced the compatibility with more modern VoIP gear so they will most definitely operate better in those releases.
