Default LAN Problem after upgrading to EPS E75

    Hello there,

I have an environment where we recently upgraded our Security appliances and thereafter also upgraded the users' client computers from SecureClient NGX R60 to Endpoint Security E75.20.

It all works as designed, the clients can connect from outside the perimeter just fine. It is tough the case, that on some machines where the R60 client was installed before E75, that -if the users is in the perimeter- the LAN connection drops, it feels just as some sort of firewall component would block all connections.

I cannot ping /connect to anything but the machines IP address on the local net. This behaviour starts around 2-3, sometimes 4 hrs after booting the machine. When i disable / enable the LAN Connection, it works again for said period.

We have a couple of new computers, where the E75 client works fine. Clients are all W7, 32bit.

Is there a removal tool for the R60 Client? i believe there was one for R56...

    BR,

    Markus

Hi, although it seems strange to me that the issue occurs after a given time, but i'll try the suggested solution anyways.

    Cheers,

    Markus

    okay,

the first setting in the sk (send clear to encryption domain) was already set.

changing allow_clear_traffic_while_disconnected to "false" from "client_decide" did lead to the expected behavior, no clear text communication after that.

Not really what i was aiming for.

the default setting here is "client_decide" - maybe if i change that to true ?

okay, i did try changing allow_clear_traffic_when_disconnected in $FWDIR/conf/trac_client_1.ttm from "client_decide" to "true".
Then i installed the policy and connected my client to the gateway.

Unfortunately, 2-3 hours later, my network connection was interrupted again.

Back to my original question - does a removal tool for SecureClient R62 exist?
