Default SPLAT R75 on VmWare ESXi 3.5 ?

    Hi everyone,

I have been trying for the past 2 week-ends to get SPLAT R75 install on a small VmWare ESXi 3.5 server I have in my lab (home).

My install(s) fails with the following error message:
"Error mounting /dev/loop0 on /mnt/runtime (Invalid argument). This shouldn't happen, and I'm rebooting your system now."

I provided the print screen of this error as well.
I am not even getting to the first screen that says that my hardware has been found suitable for install... So I am wondering if my issue lies in my VmWare server.

    Steps I tried were:
    A) Validated that R75 is supported on ESXi 3.5
Check Point - Security Appliances, Security Gateways, Security Management, Endpoint Security, and Software Blades

    B) Create a regular VM with default options but using 40Go HDD and 1024Mo RAM
    - Tried to install using RHLE 3 (32 bits) = Failed... same issue.
    - Tried to install using RHLE 5 (32 bits) = Failed... same issue.

    C)
Create a custom VM with no default HDD
    - Manualy provisioned a "ThinDisk" using the CLI on the ESXi server
Added the ThinDisk manualy to the VM
    - Tried to install using RHLE 3 (32 bits) = Failed... same issue.
    - Tried to install using RHLE 5 (32 bits) = Failed... same issue.

Would anyone has any insight or have been successful at installing R75 on ESXi 3.5?

Recheck that page you linked too on the Check Point page.

Are you sure that ESXi 3.5 is validated.

I can see the tick for regular ESX 3.5, however ESXi 3.5 doesn't appear to have a tick for the R75.

Looks like you are absolutely right there, I must have looked to that grid in a happy haste to get this running.

I will try to move my lab on ESXi 4.0 or 4.1 instead.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I recently upgraded my ESXi server from 4.0 to 4.1. It was a bit of a pain because you now have to use a different method to upgrade, but now that it's all done everything seems to be working fine.

I am currently running R75.10 on ESXi Server 4.1 in my lab. Works great.
