    Default Noob looking for advice

    Hi all

My company currently use Cisco ASA5520's. But I'm evaluating alternatives and looking at the IP series from Checkpoint. Does anyone know anywhere where there's been comparison's done between Checkpoint IP series and the Cisco ASA's?

    Thanks

i suppose it really depends on what you mean by comparision..

With regards to specs... i expect both match up well but you would need to compare the specs from either vendors site....

But when it comes to management..... I would say Checkpoint has a massive advantage if you require central management from multiple branches....

In regards to features both have a large range to offer....but once again it all depends on what you are looking for (i.e complete UTM, layer 5 protocol inspection etc etc) ....

Yea I'm sure CheckPoint sales or a VAR could help you with a comparison. Personally I love Cisco, but when it comes to firewalls CheckPoint's GUI and management tools blow the ASAs away.

Contact you local Sales person, he will be able to provide a lot of information to you. Alternatively, if you wish to go with a reseller, they also should have loads they can do for you.
