    Default Try try try again!

Well I cleverly contrived to fail this test despite working quite hard at it. I had one of those days where the brain freezes and you mistrust answers to questions you thought you knew, a bit like ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ without the payoff.

I had questions in the following areas:

    Security Servers
    Advanced VPN
    FW Advanced Commands
    Troubleshooting and Debugging SR
    File Management
    Protocol Analysis
    Course Overview ???????
    General Troubleshooting Methods
    VPN Debug Tools
    NGX Debug Tools
    Cluster XL
    Troubleshoot and Debug SR

I had quite a few questions on the meaning of command switches…….Duh! Unless you have access to and use command line a lot you will just have to memorise these. I just have fears while I remember all this crap I am going to forget the important stuff…..like how to walk. I think these type of questions are a little unfair as in real life I would use Help or a reference guide if I forgot a switch type.

Lots of very similar questions with just slight changes which test what you know…..or remember. Also three questions which refer to Exhibits but NO Exhibit on the question? Check Point or VUE really need to get their act together, especially now they have doubled the price of these tests.

Well I got 550 but know on another day would have scrapped through this so I will memorise command switches and revise the rest and try again in a few weeks……..I should pass provided I remember how to walk 

Well I did try again......only the once, but managed to pass this time.

My advice, don't just rely on the training materials as there were times when I thought I was sitting a UNIX/LINUX exam.
