View Full Version : migration from Splat r70.50 to GaAA

We have one Security Management Server running R70.50 on an old server hardware. I have been asked to upgrade/build a new physical server or a vm SMS running GAiA and R75.40. Usercentre search results talks about using DVD or mounting GAiA iso on ftp but unfortunately I am unable to find GAiA iso yet. Managed to find Check_Point_R75.40_Gaia.iso at https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal/user/anon/page/default.psml/media-type/html?action=portlets.DCFileAction&eventSubmit_doGetdcdetails=&fileid=17241 but this looks to me the Checkpoint R75.40 for GAiA and not the actual GaiA iso I am after?
Please advise where can I find GAiA iso? or I need to use above mentioned iso? Has GAiA ad CP R75.40 been merged into one iso?
Apollogies if this is actually noted somewhere and I didn't find it.

No, that's the correct link for the GAIA version of R75.40. The link says it's the fresh install package for open servers and all appliances. Just like SPLAT is an operating system, GAIA is what they're calling the new one. There is no ISO of just "SPLAT" or "GAIA". It's the CheckPoint software release running on top of SPLAT or GAIA and you can pick which you'd like to use.

If you haven't noticed, R75.45 is out, so I'd suggest that over R75.40. Here is the link to the ISO for R75.45 GAIA: http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/file_download?id=20008 The R75.45 notification page (https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk82740) has links to each of the versions you can download.

Also, if you're running a the management server on a different box than your firewall, then you can mix operating systems, like Management on SPLAT, firewalls on GAIA
