Interesting. This release appears inside the official R75 roadmap. The press release speaks about installing this VS release on certain appliances:

"Pricing starts at $3,000 for three virtual systems. Customers also benefit from fixed software blade licensing that allows a software blade license to be used across any number of Virtual Systems. Customers using Check Point 4800 appliances and above will also benefit from a Virtual System that is bundled with each appliance."

I wonder if they'll ship those models with the VS edition right out the box.

Has anybody made experiences in a production environment with Gaia based VSX?
In the LAB, I reconfigured sucessfully a 9090 cluster based on Gaia. However, the Gotcha is, that we use OSPF routing with redistribution of static routes. And this is exactly one nasty little thing which is NOT supported on Gaia/VSX. Redistribution can only be performed from the WebUI, but with VSX there is no WebUI!!
We could arrange without static routes, but the question remains how stable is Gaia/VSX for a production environment?

Any comments ae welcome

No, but you can easily upgrade to it.

R75.40VS also runs in regular Security Gateway mode. In fact when you install it on an appliance, that's the way it starts up until you active VSX mode from SmartDashboard.

I'll see if there's a workaround/fix for this.
