View Full Version : World IPv6 day - June 8th!

Am hoping Checkpoint will get their IPv6 act together in response to this! Would be nice to have 6to4 NAT to be able to quickly enable customer websites to be available on IPv6 and VSX IPv6 support, I won't be holding my breath though :-)

I think this is when vendors are going to start feeling the pressure with regards to the lack of support in their products.

Is CheckPoint going to participate in World IPv6 Day?

I see that Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet are on the list of participants.

We are participating in IPv6 Day. You can see us on the list of companies participating:

And www.checkpoint.com (http://www.checkpoint.com) is now sporting a spiffy AAAA record:

C:\Users\dwelch>nslookup -querytype=AAAA www.checkpoint.com (http://www.checkpoint.com)
Server: my.firewall

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.checkpoint.com (http://www.checkpoint.com)
Address: 2620:0:2a01:2::1a10

Nice. <clap><clap><clap>

I must admit. I was skeptical when I first saw the response. Completely expected it to just be a simple thing at a IPv6 enabled hosting company.
Conducted the lookups, whois etc. Even uses CheckPoint assigned IPv6 space from ARIN.

May I ask what version of CheckPoint is being used to firewall this IPv6 website?
Sorry, had to do that last jibe. Couldn't help myself.

Not sure exactly what version we are using, though I know we are using our own firewall to protect it :)
