View Full Version : Endpoint Connect R72 destroys NCP Packets

Hello,
in my tests of Endpoint Connect R72 I found a problem with Novell Netware Connections. I am not able to login to Novell Servers.
On the Netware Server Console I get the message of fragmented NCP Packets which definitely (I checked with wireshark) come from my Endpoint Connect Client. No problems with other IP-Connections like FTP, Telnet, SSH, HTTP. Only NCP has problems.

In our productive environment with Checkpoint SecureClient (NGX R60 HFA2) and same VPN-Gateway everything works fine.

Our environment:
Netware Client Novell Client 4.91 SP5 for Windows.
Netware Servers 6.5 SP 7
Windows XP Professional SP3
VPN-Gateway NGX R65 HFA50
Endpoint Security R72 7.5.225

Any ideas ?

If you are running CP's AV solution you will need to add these registry settings to avoid issues.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\klif\Parame ters\:
DWORD: NoISwift = 1 (Prevents base creation of fidbox.dat)
DWORD: NoINetSwift = 1 (Disables the network optimization)
DWORD: NoNetworkFS = 1 (Disables Network scan)

This functionality does not work with Novel shares.
