This is a review of Corrent's S3500 TurboCard, a three-port accelerated Gigabit NIC purpose-built in cooperation with Check Point to optimize firewall throughput in very high bandwidth installations.  Corrent recently loaned me one to experiment with in my lab.

The focus of this review is understanding how the TurboCard accelerates Firewall-1/VPN-1 traffic and doing a walkthrough on installation and administration.  I don't have the lab equipment to torture-test it at 2.7 Gb/s.  This review is partially a how-to guide for administrators to understand why you might want this card and what it's like to configure and manage a firewall that uses it.  It's also somewhat of a tutorial for administrators familiar with Windows platforms to understand how easy it is to use SecurePlatform.
