What's the Main Presentation?
Tedman Eng of Dataway will
roll up his sleeves and get into the juicy details of upgrading
Firewall-1/VPN-1, including:
- In-place upgrading versus building a new box
- Upgrade paths
- Things to watch out for
- What works and what doesn't
If you've got an old firewall box and you're considering
upgrading to NGX, this information will be invaluable!

It will be the usual tech geek swag.
Get your raffle ticket at
the door!
Is This A "Sales" Event?
No. This is the monthly meeting for all members of the
Check Point community to get together and help each other out.
Lots of end users attend, as well as technically-oriented employees
from Check Point and Check Point partners and resellers. We're
here to learn and network and find ways to do our jobs better.
This is not a sales or marketing event.
Where is the Meeting?
At Dataway in midtown San
Francisco. Dataway is a Check Point partner and reseller.
We'll be at
180 Redwood Street, Suite #300
(Google Map) (near Van Ness and Golden Gate). It's just
half a block from City Hall.
Is The Meeting Open To The Public?
Yes!
Parking?
There are two convenient public lots:
Public Transit?
It's easy to get to the meeting by public transit. These systems serve the area well:
San Francisco Muni (on the
Muni Metro, get off at the Civic Center Station or the Van Ness
Station)
BART (get off at the Civic Center
Station)
Do I Need to RSVP?
It would be nice if you RSVP'd to
bjstiefel@cpug.org, so that
we can plan ahead, but it's not required. It's OK to just show up.
Do You Need Volunteers?
Yes! Hosting a high quality user group meeting takes a lot
of work. Please contact Barry Stiefel ("Stee-ful") at
415-543-5222 or
bjstiefel@cpug.org to offer some help. It will probably be
as simple as showing up a half hour early.
What Does It Cost?
Nothing. The meeting is free. Lunch is
free.
