Site to Site VPN

Just want to ask, is it possible to build site to site VPN,
between a old Checkpoint 4.1, to a Checkpoint NG R55 w/AI in simplified VPN mode ? Also, seems in NG R55 simplfied VPN mode, can't use Group 1(768bit) for IKE phase 1 keyexchange ?
