Default Check Point Unveils NGX (R65)

Hi,

I just read on Check Point's website that NGX (R65) was released right at the beginning of CeBIT 2007 in Hannover. It was just a small notice in their 'News'.

URL: http://www.checkpoint.com/press/2007...dsecurity.html

So I just grabbed the SPLAT NGX (R62) iSO and upgraded our standalone firewall from R62 to R65. Worked like a charm and just took us a downtime of a few mins. They have some new routines for license checking in their installer. The official website already has the newest R65 doc's even some links were not updated yet. Their whole new website looks equal to the new SmartConsole design. But the website only runs in IE for me. Their new PartnerLocator JavaScripts won't change to another site in Firefox.

Beside the new centralised Connectra Management tab I like the updates made in the VPN-1 Edge Gateway objects. They didn't provide a VPN-1 Edge Cluster object, though. So I still have to struggle with creating two Edge objects for one Edge Cluster.

Best regards,
Danny Trommer

Is it me or are the IPSO packages unavailable at this time? I can pull down iso's for Solaris, Linux/SPLAT and Windows. Just not IPSO.

I can't find a place to download them at all. Only ordering CD is available. I need Linux and IPSO packages...

http://www.checkpoint.com/getsecure.html

On that page i managed to download R65 SmartConsole (Windows version), but for VPN-1 SmartCenter and Gateways only option available is ordering the CD...
