If you're in the US, you may be aware that the start and end dates are changing for Daylight Saving Time for the first time since 1986. The new start date is three weeks earlier, the second Sunday in March. The new end date is one week later, the first Sunday in November. This is going to be problematic for a number of calendar and time dependent applications (Outlook calendaring comes to mind). I recently queried CP as to how this is going to be handled and this is their reply: ------------------------------ If not SPLAT, then refer to the OS vendor. For SPLAT, the problem is resolved in NGX R60 HFA_04 - R61 take 56 - R62, Enfield, and R55 HFA 19 (no release date for this HFA yet) For Solaris 8, you need patch 109809-02 or later and 108993-52 or later. For Solaris 9, you need patch 113225-03 or later and 112874-33 or later. For Solaris 10, you need patch 113032-01 or later and 119689-07 or later. Xbeam - XOS 7.0.2 and higher Nokia - IPSO 3.8.1 build 44 - Ipso 4.1 build 19 There will be a patch release some time in Feb. for Connectra. ---------------------------- I'm going to query Nokia about IPSO 3.9 and Sofaware about Edge devices. If I'm reading their reply right, it's an OS issue rather than an FW-1 issue, which is good news. One of the issues that Microsoft Exchange has is that its CDO interface (used by Outlook Web Access and Blackberry servers) has the calendar tables hard-coded in, and the OS calendar is not used. That's why you have to patch Exchange as well as the OS. FWIW, Ray

Most Unix boxes you can just edit the tztab (or equivalent) files. I've done this in the past with HP-UX boxes - they had the wrong setting for changeover in NZ - they did it an hour out. But getting back to the CP side of things - can you remember a daylight saving time changeover that has gone smoothly in the last few years? Nearly every time I seem to end up having to do a stop/start on the mgmt side to get Tracket behaving itself.

Interesting. I've found that with R54 and R55 on P-1, they don't deal with the change back from DST to GMT. They'll start displaying the time as 23 hours behind. Not sure yet on NGX. I seem to recall one of FP2 or FP3 working OK, but then it went back to broken again.

Just found this: Compatibility with Daylight Saving Time introduced in 2007 Solution ID: #sk32456 Note that the release notes for IPSO say that CLI can be used to create custom DST rules. I didn't see anywhere that the new rules are in fact in place. So... Ray
