Default Gateway Topology in SCS

Hi,
Does having incomplete topology (Interface) information of the gateway in the Smartdashboard matter if i do not use the gateway for VPN, and only for enforcing my security policies.

Will it in any way affect my policy working or enforcing if i have incomplete interface information of the gateway in the dashboard..?!

Thanks

Default Re: Gateway Topology in SCS

You should always have the correct topology information in the gateway.

At the very least you have to turn off Anti-Spoofing on the gateway.

If you have attached a gateway to a SMARTCenter then you can automatically pull the configuration from the Gateway with the Get Interfaces with Topology.

Is there a reason you can't have the topology in the gateway.

As long as the actual main IP is defined then it should be fine as long as anti-spoofing is turned off. I have seen this myself and know it does work, however you may see some weird issues such as some traffic is dropped. In general I would say update the gateway topology to avoid stupid issues.
