| Hi folks, I've got the following issue if anyone can help: I need to dump out the security policy from a Solaris 8 Management Server prior to an upgrade (we're running 4.1). I've downloaded the upgrade_export utility for Solaris from CheckPoint, but am not sure where to install it. I'm also not sure how to run the command, but have used it before on Windows, so I'd guess it wouldn't be too difficult. If anyone has any ideas, has done this before, I'd like to here from you. Thanks, Dan Last edited by ddarby1; 2008-02-20 at 09:54. |

| I always dump them into the $FWDIR/bin/upgrade_tools directory you may have to add ./ in front of the command ie ./upgrade_import xxxxxx to get it to execute |

My understanding is that minimum version to export config to NGX is NGFP3 onwards??? 4.1 and below is too old to upgrade_export?? |

| Thanks for your replies and help. My unix is a bit rusty/not great, so it took me a while to unzip and extract the tar file to the correct place. As for the reply from chuachongchee, yes I think you're probably right - I wouldn't expect Check Point to support a direct upgrade from 4.1 to NGX - perhaps there's a version I could use from an NG CD to go from 4.1 first? Anyway, it's currently failing: # ./upgrade_export 20080225 ld.so.1: ./upgrade_export: fatal: libCstd.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory Killed Though upgrade_export isn't in $FWDIR/bin/upgrade_tools directory yet. Thanks for your help guys. |
