| Hi, is there any hardware requirement paper for CheckPoint on a Sun? I want to know what kind of machine I need for a specific configuration. I am running CheckPoint R60 on a Sun with 4 gigs interface, what kind of machine do I need (cpus, memory etc). I think I remember Sun saying that you need 1 CPU per gig interface. Also I am running CheckPoint R60 on a sun with 4 quad fastethernet (total of 16 physical interface) and also 16 virtual interface (for a big total of 32 interfaces). What kind of machine should I get. Thanks. |

| Hi, I'm also interested by any hardware requirements. On Check Point website, the provided requirements are very "light". http://www.checkpoint.com/ngx/upgrad...ments/r62.html Does anyone has some more realistic requirements? What kind of configuration do you use for which environment? Thanks Tan |

I think that's a dated recommendation as Check Point can push >10Gbps on 4 Intel cores Quote:
If you describe what your traffic requirements are we can give you better direction. In general though, by the time you hit 4 CPUs/Cores you are not going to be processor bound. Also you want at least 1GB RAM/CPU-Core so the CPU/Core is keep fed. |
