| Hello We're using SNX together with Connectra NGX which works pretty good. The only problem is, that it seems impossible to uninstall SNX properly. - there is some trash left within the registry - a hidden non-pnp-device will be created - the virtual network adapter remains (is also hidden) When i try to clean up the mess by hand (removing registry-keys, device, and so on) the next installation of SNX won't work. But after a normal uninstallation (where it creates the hidden-devices, etc) and another installation of SNX I can connect without troubles. Conclusion: - The uninstallation creates some voodoo-stuff which is needed by a reinstallation. Why we do need a proper uninstallation: We're using Altiris as to manage the clients. Altiris uses the hardware adress of the first(!) NIC to identify the clients. If SNX is uninstalled the virtual NIC which has a HW address of 00:00:00:0..,etc remains as first NIC, but is hidden (thus the order cannot be changed). Is there anyone on the world with the same issues ? -Manuel |

| I too have had issues with the SNX client and how it cleans up after itself when you uninstall. There is a "cpclean" utility that works pretty well. You can download it at: http://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/...s.html#cpclean I found that the important "files" to remove are the vna_coinstall.dll and the vna.sys. first found in "windows dir"\system32 and the latter found in the "windows dir"\system32\drivers HTH Randy |
