Location tab under User Properties

Can anyone explain what the Location tab under the User Properties Window really does. I'm trying to use the Source and Destination objects to control what each user has access to while connected with SSL Extender, but none of my changes seem to have any effect. Check Point's documentation does not seem to be all that detailed on this subject. I could create rules that would accomplish something similar but ideally I would like to control it by the user.
