Default Building a new log server...

I want to build a new log server but I am not sure how to do it. Just a separate log server than my management console.
Someone recommeded that I install the log server option but how do I get to that prompt? We are running NGX R60. This will be run on Windows 2003 server. However, I am not sure which to install, the SPLAT or the SmartConsole. I already installed the SmartConsole but it did not give me the option for the logserver. It installed it fine but now what I want right?

Can you guys please help me out as much detail as possible.
This is very urgent. I need help fast. Many thanks.

Default Re: Building a new log server...

SPLAT is OS. Smartconsole is client, isn't OS, isn't log server. It's only soft client.
Default, SmartCenter is log server. If you want separate Log server, you need separate license first. When you install CP on the server, you need to check option Log Server (from menu with 3 points, Primary SmartCenter, Secondary SmartCenter, Log Server) and etc etc.
