Default SNMP Monitoring tool for Firewall

Hi,

I have Checkpoint management server of R65 and Firewall as Nortel 5109 version 2.2.5.1_R62 (R62).
I want to know any good monitoring tool use for monitoring this Nortel box which should show CPU,Harddisk and memory utilization along with charts and graphs in it.

I have tried Opmon and Solarwinds but none of them seems to be working properly.I am able to discover the device but unable to get any details in it.

Can anyone recommend me good tool along with download link for EVAL version so that I will try it and make it work.

Regards,
Jitu

You may need to import the appropriate MIB to get more information from the device.

But stuff like CPU, HDD, etc. should be standard MIB-2 stuff.

I have discussed this a bit in a previous post:

http://www.cpug.org/forums/nokia-ips...nt-module.html

I have used Solarwinds, NetQOS, Cacti, MRTG, and Nagios to monitor Checkpoint and Nokia firewalls. It's worth the effort, though I would advise using SNMP v3 where possible.

I used Cacti and Nokia IP firewall template for more MIB supported. It works well.
if you need more in checkpoint side, you can create customer data and put in the OID.
If you want SNMP trap, the simplest one using snmptrapd in linux.

Thanks
