Default SmartPortal

Environment: SPLAT SC-Pro NGX HFA2
Have installed SmartPortal. Added rule to allow my WS for default port 4433 to managment server. Added /opt/CPportal-R60/portal/conf/hosts.allowed with ALL:ALL. Management object has SmartPoral checked. Started SmartPortal on management station - messages look good

'https://management server:4433' - This brings up a logon screen. When I type my user account (do I need a separate one?), password and IP address of management servers, nothing happens.

No errors in tracker.

Any ideas?

Did you try to logon from different workstations?

I have similar problem on one my workstation. And I think that problem with browser (may be personal firewall).

The CP SmartCenter doc says the file should be hosts.allowed. Not typical UNIX...

I tried it both ways with the same results.

Hello,

It seems that the problem might be related with the database. Kindly Install Database and then it will work.

Thanks for the try...I tried installing the database, but it did not work. Smart Portal is running on the management station anyway.

I've just checked in my docs, and I found hosts.allow (doc dated from june 2005).
And with this file name, it works for me.

However, Smart Portal does not allows to modify any rule, object or anything or did I missed something ?

No, SmartPortal is Read-only for everything but the user database.

Are you seeing anything in the audit logs?

There is nothing in audit logs, but plenty of "accepts" in the event logs (the managment station is on a protected network).

Not the traffic log, but the "Audit" log. It should tell you about management events.

I'm guessing you mean Smartview Tracker - Audit tab. If so, there are no entries for this event.

i'm also struggling to get
I always receive the message that the user is not known or incorrect password.
after 3 attempts the user gets locked.
I can use the user to login to smartdashboard, so the user is ok.

Am i missing something here?
(to be sure i created both hosts.allow/hosts.allowed files)

When i check the audit tab i get password incorrect.

Are the users for smartportal defined in another place?
