Block Skype

Hi

we have CheckPoint Firewall NGX R61 and our Smart Defense i up-to date.
I have enabled under Application intelegence- Instant Mesengers- Block Skype, but it seems that is not blocked.
Can please someone help me how to block Skype?

hi
skype cannot be blocked with the help checkpoint because they use dynamic ports to go out.
To block these application you need to use a dedicated content filtering solution like WEBSENSE etc
then you can block these application in your network.

[1] Make sure that you have enabled strict protocol enforcement
[2] Your last outbound rule should be restricted to ONLY HTTP
