Default Smartdashboard configuration issues

Hello,

I am new to the boards as I only just got recently hired working with Checkpoint.

I am taking over an environment from a previous employee that was terminated, and I am trying to add myself as an administrator through dashboard. The problem is that when I try to log into dashboard with his login information, it says there is a tcp connectivity failure. I have heard of TCP/IP, but not just TCP. Am I missing an IP address or something?

Thanks,

L1nuxExp3rt

Default Re: Smartdashboard configuration issues

Hi L1nuxExp3rt,

To log onto a SmartCentre you need to be defined as an administrator on the SmartCentre (i.e username/password) and possibly a GUI client depending on whether this was locked down or not (i.e trusted IP addresses can only access SmartCentre). You have the previous administrators username/password. Is your host defined as a GUI client?

Furthermore, can you telnet to the SmartCentre from your machine on port 18190? If you can telnet on this port, It means TCP/IP connectivity is allowed and working from your machine to the SmartCentre. SmartConole uses this port to talk the SmartCentre. It may be worth re-installing SmartConole.

Hope this helps.
