Default Help! Mail Alert

Hello I am trying to setup email alerts on our FP3 CP box. I set the following within Policy -> Global Properties -> Log and Alert -> Alert Commands

Quote:
run mail alert script : internal_sendmail -s 'Firewall Alert' -t <smtp relay server> -f FW@company.com recipient@company.com
I dont seem to recieving anything in my inbox. Syntax seems to be correct (from searching on this forum and Google), tried SMTP relay server IP and the Mail server IP, tried a different mailbox.

The alerting is working on the object as I also have checked within Alert Commands
Quote:
Send Pop-up alert to SmartView Status
And I see the alerts - but no email! :(

Wondered if anyone had any suggestions?

Default Re: Help! Mail Alert

Hi,

I have configured follow:

- Policy
- Global Properties
- Log and Alert
- Alert Commands
- "Send email alert to Smart View Monitor" and "Run mail alert script" active
- "Run mail alert script" ->
/opt/CPsuite-R61/fw1/bin/sendmail -s "Subject" -t "IP-Address Mailserver" -f "sender address" "Emailaddress"

If you changed the configuration you have to reinstall the rulebase.
That configuration works for me.

Best Regards,
Sabrina

I'm running FP3, I'm looking in the similar locations for the 'sendmail' file ie /opt/CPfw1-53/bin - unable to find it

Here are all instatances of 'sendmail' :

/usr/lib/sendmail
/etc/init.d/sendmail
/installs/patches/8_Recommended/110615-13/SUNWsndmr/reloc/etc/init.d/sendmail
/installs/patches/8_Recommended/110615-13/SUNWsndmu/reloc/usr/lib/sendmail
