| Policy Editor Locks Up on Save or Policy Install From the Policy Editor application, the client will hit 100% CPU utilization when a second "Save Rulebase" command is invoked. As an example, you open the GUI, modify your rulebase, save it, and then apply it. Part of the policy load procedure saves the rulebase, so, you've got an 85% chance of the GUI hanging pegging the CPU. To resolve these issues: Close out any GUIs (Policy Editor, etc) Perform an fwstop/cpstop on the management console Archive and remove older rulebase files (*.W, *pf) in $FWDIR/conf Archive and remove $FWDIR/conf/rulebases.fws Create a new rulebases.fws file as per the FAQ: Where did my rulebases go? Restart the management console (fwstart) and verify GUI works correctly. -- PhoneBoy - 14 Jan 2004 FAQForm FAQs.Class: SmartClientsFAQs, TroubleshootingFAQs FAQs.OS: FAQs.Version: 4.1 |
