hello,

is it possible to create an object based on the url instead of an IP address. If yes, how?

thanks already for any enlightment.

Yes.
Open SmartDashboard and right click on "Network Objects" -> new -> other -> domain.
Or do a search in the help documentation on "domain objects"

But you really don't want to use domain objects. Every IP address has to get a reverse DNS lookup and it slows things down severely. Try it once on a production gateway and you'll never do it again.

Agreed, not a pleasant experience! Doesn't seem to matter if you have system resource to burn, still doesn't play nice.
