Hi, I'm quite a newbie with check point firewall, so sorry if this question seems too basic. I would like to know if there is any way to get a full list of hosts from a group, along with some parameters from the host, like the comment (you can do it with the GUI but only one on one). For example, let's say I would like to get all the information (name, IP, group, comment) about all the IPs in a given range. Is there any tool to do this automatically? Thanks in advance.

i know in the R61 dashboard if you have the object view window open and click on a group it will display all the objects within it, along with comments IP addresses and now - nat'd addresses (which is really quite useful - saves you trawling through lots of individual objects!) not sure about previous versions but think it must be similar

You could use the command line utility "dbedit" to query the network_objects and export it to a text file, or you could you GuiDbedit is located in the SmarConsole directory. dbedit -s "ServerIP" -u "fwadmin" -p "password" then run help to see commands available, also you could check the Command Line Interface PDF I hope it help LR
