Default How to get a list of hosts in a given range

Hi,

I'm quite a newbie with check point firewall, so sorry if this question seems too basic.

I would like to know if there is any way to get a full list of hosts from a group, along with some parameters from the host, like the comment (you can do it with the GUI but only one on one).

For example, let's say I would like to get all the information (name, IP, group, comment) about all the IPs in a given range. Is there any tool to do this automatically?

Thanks in advance.

i know in the R61 dashboard if you have the object view window open and click on a group it will display all the objects within it, along with comments IP addresses and now - nat'd addresses (which is really quite useful - saves you trawling through lots of individual objects!) not sure about previous versions but think it must be similar

Thanks a lot for the reply. We're still using the R54 dashboard.

Is there any way to 'export' all that data to a file? Thanks again for your help.

You could use the command line utility "dbedit" to query the network_objects and export it to a text file, or you could you GuiDbedit is located in the SmarConsole directory.

dbedit -s "ServerIP" -u "fwadmin" -p "password"

then run help to see commands available, also you could check the Command Line Interface PDF

I hope it help

Thanks so much for the reply. I'll have a look at the dbedit command, and the CLI PFD.

Thanks!
