R65 Smart Dashboard under Windows 7

Has anyone been able to get R65 smartdashboard to run under Windows 7 (32 bit)? Also, I'm not looking to run this under the "XP mode"

Looks like we'll be migrating to Windows 7 soon. Hopefully SmartConsole and the MDG will run in 7, or we may be out of luck.

Officially, neither are supported for R65. The only officially supported GUI is R70.20 per the chat transcript provided below:

Been running SmartDashboard R65 and R65 HFA1

in Windows 7 32 bit AND 64bit without any issues


There is a bug with Eventia Reporter client but thats it

Support: SmartConsole R70.20 is available for Windows 7. You can use this SmartConsole version to manage your NGX R65 SmartCenter.

I tried SmartConsole and MDG R70.20 with an P-1 R65 HFA 60 Installation.
Did not work.

Connection cannot be established.
Client and Server versions are incompatible.
Server version: NGX R65
SmartConsole Client version: R70.20

SmartConsole has never been compatible with older server versions.

I know this, but it's really funny (edit: not funny ha-ha, but funny weird) that TAC doesn't.

This is one of the more simple issues that could arise and the chat tool apparently took me to someone at remedial level support or equivalent, as opposed to someone on first-level support.

But I digress...

So I know from other users' experience that NGX R65 SmartConsole (and HFA1 SmartConsole) will run on Win7 64-bit (with the exception of Eventia Reporter).

Anyone have any input as to the NGX R70 or R70.20 SmartConsole?
