Default changing the password to log into SmartCenter

Hello,

I'd like to know how to change the password to log into our Smart Center? We are running NGXR65 on SPLAT platform.

I know how to change the password on our SPLAT box but I need to know how to change the password we use to log into Check Point.

Also is there a way to create admin users as well, we are trying to get away from using one admin account, we'd like some accountability.

Happy New Year!

Default Re: changing the password to log into SmartCenter

You can create additional accounts with SmartDashboard.

first create a new 'Permission Profile' for the admin users
[Manage] -> [Permission Profiles]

then create the admin users
[Manage] -> [Users and Administrators] -> [New] -> Administrator

In the New Administrator User you can change/adjust now the login settings.

With R65 HFA2 it should be possible for a new created Admin to change the password via [Manage] -> [Change my Password] (not tested)

If you're logged into SPLAT, type in "cpconfig". There should be an option "(2) Administrator". Select 2 and you'll have the ability to modify the list. As of NGX(?) [and later] you can only have one administrator defined in cpconfig. The other administrators, as dsp.nepo said, have to be defined from the GUI.

To change the original Console admin password from command line,

use this legacy command

fwm -a [name of admin]
