Default How can I load a config into SmartCenter to view in *local mode?

I'm a noob. 1st post here.

I used to be able to do this quite a while back, but I can't recall how to do this with R55. I have only the SmartConsole R55 installed on my WinXP platform and I want to place a customers objects_5_0.C and rulebases_5_0.fws file in the proper directory so that I can view it.

I first tried placing it into C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\SmartConsole\R55\PROGRAM\cpml_dir \conf

However, when I start SmartDashboard, I get:

The connection has been refused because the database cannot be opened.

The main reason that I want to do this is for the sole purpose of trying to identify which security policies have been installed onto different remotely managed gateways or gateway clusters. This is another question, so I will post separately in the appropriate forum

Best regards
Jerald

Hi
Well if you want to know which policy is runing at the remote gateway, you can check that in smartview monitor.

I hope this will help you.

Ranjit

Just to add to this..... you can also use the following command on the module.

'cpstat -f policy fw'

The way I would do this if you don't want to login to the customers SMARTCenter is get a cpinfo of the SMARTCenter and then load into infoview, so you get a local copy/view of the objects and rules etc without having to login to the SMARTCenter.

If you are a CSP then you should have access to download infoview, if you aren't then you will need to google the web for a download as CSP's are not allowed to distribute infoview of ikeview.
