We upgraded to NGX R6.5 and I screwed up the install and had to uninstall everything. Of course I didn't make any backups or anything like that. However the firewall's are still up and running. Is there a way to pull the old rules off of the firewall and use those to merge back in to our SmartCenter so I don't have to redo all of the network objects and configurations, etc..? Is there any other way? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

There is no way to retrieve the rules from the firewall. If you still have the log files, you can open them and click the Audit tab. You could go through the audit log and probably get most of the object definitions back. You may be able to figure out some of the rules as well by the changes. Are any of the old folders still present? Ray

of course not! :) I tried to just uninstall everything and start from scratch with the R65. But now when I install it I get an error that I can't log in to smartcenter. It says "can't initiate connection". I found this error in other posts, but none of that worked... I am trying to rebuild the smart center (Only installing smart center and smart console) and then once I get all of my rules re-bulit then push to the firewall's. But I can't even log in to smart center. Not sure why this is happening. Any ideas?
