Default FWDIR\log

good morning,

i´m wondering how to free disk-space on SC in FWDIR\log without deleting log files, just moving them to another server.

In this DIR i find files named like
  • yyyy-mm-dd_2359_nn.log
  • yyyy-mm-dd_2359_nn.logaccount_ptr
  • yyyy-mm-dd_2359_nn.loginitial_ptr
  • yyyy-mm-dd_2359_nn.logLuuidDB

is there anything to be considered respectively use of Eventia Reporter and it´s database?

we´re using R60 on distributed deployment: gw on secure platform, smart center server is on w2k3.

thanks in advance for any answer.

best regards
/oliver

If it's a Windows box and you're using NTFS, turn on compression for that directory. You'll save something like 60% of the space.

If it's solaris you can use a cron job to zip any files that haven't been modified in the last 3 days.

find $FWDIR/log -mtime +3 | xargs bzip2
